One of the most unique tutorials available today to teach physically handicapped students on how to use a standard computer keyboard is the "Keyboarding for the Physically Handicapped" Ability program.

NOTICE:  We are the sole distributor of “Typing for the Physically Handicapped.”

Old 1978 discontinued copies of 'Typing for the Physically Handicapped' that we authored, are currently circulating for $550 to over $900 and do not contain any interactive software or updates.

Our updated edition, which we now call 'Keyboarding for the Physically Handicapped', includes the updated 2007 book, plus our software program. So, why spend hundreds for the old 1978 book when you can get the new book with all the software for just $895.

This interactive software program is custom designed for people who are missing any combination of fingers, or who suffer from cerebral palsy and may be able to use only one or two fingers or one-hand at best. It is the only program on the market that teaches touch typing to people with these limitations. Twenty unique editions have been developed based on ability.

Using the guide keys and the lesson material that matches their ability, students are able to learn at the same pace as everyone else in the class. This greatly enhances their self-confidence and creates an optimum teaching situation for the educator.

There is an assortment of one, three, and five minute speed tests that automatically time the student, as well as a printed record, so both you and the parent can monitor the student's progress.

Each program includes a complete set of lesson plans and instructional goals that are individually designed for each student. This enables you to fulfill and adhere to the mandates of your Individual Education Plan (IEP).

A wide assortment of program packages is available to match the applicable disability. Each comes with a corresponding typing book.

The Master Edition is available for Schools, Libraries, and Resource Centers. This edition includes a Master Ability Menu of all twenty programs (AB1 - AB20) for a total of 440 custom lessons that will allow any disabled person to select a full twenty-two lesson typing course, regardless of what fingers they are able to use.

We are especially proud of this touch typing system. Teachers' Institute for Special Education spent years researching and working with people with missing digits to develop a system that would bring the highest results to students who suffer from these restrictions.
